The 13th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition - South Asia Rounds recently was concluded in Kathmandu, from 30 Nov - 2 Dec 2017 with participation of 9 teams from five countries. Two teams from India, two teams from Pakistan, two teams from Nepal, two teams from Iran and one team from Sri Lanka participated where Mr. Madhab Paudel, Chairperson of Nepal Law Commission was present as a Chief Guest.
Kathmandu School of law, the National Round winner from Nepal along with other teams competed in the preliminary rounds. The team consisted of three members with Ms. Mamta Shiwakoti as first Mooter, Mr. Dhurba Yonzon as second Mooter and Ms. Bandana Upreti as researcher. The team was coached by Ms. Yugichha Sangroula in the South Asia Rounds which was previously coached by Ms. Swechhya Sangroula in the National round.
Teams from India and Sri Lanka came out as winner and runner-up respectively and thus qualified for the upcoming regional round in Hongkong. The best Mooter was awarded to GNLU Gujrat, India. Best memorial was awarded to the same while Ms. Bandana Upreti from Kathmandu School was awarded with the “Best Researcher”.
