With a view to generate fully specialized jurists and to cater a need of the nation in the field of administration of justice and developing a culture of human rights and legislative process, KSL offers following LL.M. programs. They are:
1) Human Rights and Gender Justice
2) Criminal Law and Justice
3) Business and International Trade Laws
Graduates holding B.A LL.B., LL.B. or Bachelor’s degree in Law from any accredited university are eligible to apply for the course.
Each program is run under its affiliated research center to carry out program specific activities. The centers provide a platform for students to relate their theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
LL.M. IN HUMAN RIGHTS AND GENDER JUSTICE
The LL.M. in Human Rights and Gender Justice has been recognized as first of its kind both in the nation and in South Asia as it offers a specialized and comprehensive course comprising of wider issues on the subject matter. It is designed to introduce students with Nepalese jurisprudence on the Human Rights and Gender Justice and to generate proficient lawyers with adequate knowledge and skills of applying international human rights standards in domestic situation. The program runs its academic and research activities through the Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Center.
LL.M. IN CRIMINAL LAW AND JUSTICE
The program is pioneer in the country for its intensive curriculum, modality and methodology of teaching. The program intends to generate legal professionals having broader horizon of knowledge on concept and practice of criminal justice system.
The program is targeted to the law graduates to pursue their career as efficient practitioners of the criminal law, including forensic science.
Under the program seminars, guest lectures, workshop, field research, observation visits are organized through the Restorative Justice Center.
LL.M. IN BUSINESS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE LAWS
LL.M. in Business and International Trade Laws is another specialized course offered by KSL since 2004. In this era of globalization, the course captures the needs of imparting knowledge about comparative and critical understanding of Nepalese and Foreign Laws and recent trends and development in the field of International Trade Laws.
