Biography

Assoc. Prof. Aryal is a law practitioner affiliated with Supreme Court Bar Association, CeLRRd and Kathmandu School of Law. He holds LL.M. in Criminal Law and Justice from KSL, Purbanchal University, Nepal. He is involved as a Clinical Instructor assisting with Moot Courts and Effective Legal Writing in KSL. He teaches Procedural Law to B.A.LL.B 2nd year in KSL. He worked as a legal aid lawyer for indigenous prisoners through CeLRRd for 1999 to 2018. He was Program Coordinator of Prisoner's Legal Aid Program of CeLRRd from July 2009 to November 2015 and Access to Justice for all project from December, 2015 to November, 2018. He has participated in various trainings including Legal Professional Skills, International Standards for Fair Trial, Skill of Representation in Free Legal Aid cases of Prisoner's, Effective Representation of Lawyers in Criminal Cases and Free Legal Aid, Legislative Drafting, Skill and Techniques for Monitoring Fair Trial Rights, Ensuring Human Rights in Police Practice held in Copenhagan Denmark, Ten days Master TOT on Mediation organized by Mediation Council Nepal and Five days TOT on Advanced Mediation organized by Mediation Council Nepal.

  1. Field researcher/surveyor for Analysis and Reform of Criminal Justice System of Nepal, September1997 to July 1998 ILRR.
  2. Field researcher/Surveyor for Corruption on Women in Criminal Justice System in August 1998 to Feb 1999 by CeLRRd.
  3. Researcher for Trial Court System in Nepal with special reference to women's accessibility to the criminal justice system 2001-2002 CeLRRd.
  4. Questionnaire/ Schedule Developed in Base Line Survey on Juvenile Delinquency (2003) Conducted by KSL in coordination with CeLRRd, National Police Training Academy and Judges Society.
  5. Researcher Analysis of Problem-Solving Component of Women Paralegal Committee Project, Janaurary,2012 DFID / ESP-Nepal
