Seminar on Bilateral Trade and Transit Agreement
On 12 Bhadra 2080, Research Department of Kathmandu School of Law organized a Seminar on Bilateral Trade and Transit Agreement of Nepal with India and China, specifically benefiting BA LLB 4th Year students of International Trade Law. Former Secretaries Purushottam Ojha and Chandra Ghimire of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, who were invited as keynote speakers presented their invaluable insights on various themes including transit rights, trade facilitation, and trade agreement of Nepal with India and China. Reflecting on the bleak implementation status of the terms of agreement, both the speakers highlighted the urgent need to put in place effective transitional measures for successful graduation of Nepal from LDCs. Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Kumar Ingnam highlighted the need for understanding the terms of trade and transit agreement for efficient trade practices. Academic Incharge Prof. HongKong Rana thanked paper presenters for their invaluable time and efforts. Similarly, Govinda Psd. Kusum, Former Secretary and also President of KSL lauded their efforts in making efficient trade and transit practices.
