Online seminar on Access to Justice against Gender-Based Violence
On November 25, 2023, students pursuing their Master of Laws (LLM) in Human Rights and Gender Justice at Kathmandu School of Law organized a virtual seminar focused on the breakthroughs in access to justice against gender-based violence. During this event, the scholars meticulously presented their respective research and findings in connection with the seminar's overarching theme.
The seminar served as a platform for collaboration among individuals from advocacy groups and legal organizations. This collaboration has resulted in a commitment to initiatives aimed at ushering in key developments, including legislative reforms, the establishment of specialized support services, the implementation of robust awareness campaigns, and the integration of technology to streamline the reporting process.
These coordinated actions highlight the need for a more responsive justice system and represent a united front against gender-based violence. Although there has been improvement, campaigners stress that more work needs to be done to guarantee that survivors may get justice quickly and without difficulty. The group's commitment to creating a more just and encouraging judicial system is a critical step forward in the ongoing effort to reduce gender-based violence in our communities.
